Maya Jama and Ruben Dias flaunt hot new romance with PDA-packed lunch date

It seems Maya Jama is officially done hiding her hot new romance, as she’s gone public with boyfriend Ruben Dias.

The Love Island host, 30, and Portuguese footballer, 28, were first linked in November last year after meeting at the MTV EMAs in Manchester.

Having recently gone Instagram official, the couple put on a very lovey-dovey display on their latest lunch date, clearly not fussed about prying eyes.

Stepping out for a meal at a riverside eatery in West London, they couldn’t keep their eyes – or hands – off one another while tucking into a bite.

In a public display of affection, Ruben, who plays for Manchester City, was ultra flirty with the brunette beauty, reaching over to stroke her face and grabbing her hand to kiss it.

They also held hands across the table and stared into one another’s eyes while chatting.

They polished off their mains with ice cream before heading into a cab.

Maya and Ruben dined at The Summerhouse, which is a fancy seafood restaurant.

It is situated alongside the Grand Union Canal in Little Venice and is perfect for an al fresco lunch and refreshing beverage.

Maya was her typically fashionable self, sporting a dark denim dress with a deep plunging neckline, which she paired with flip-flop heels.

Meanwhile, her footie star boyfriend kept it casual in a baggy white tee and khaki chinos, adding a flashy pair of sunnies and sporty trainers.

Speaking to The Sun after spotting the lovebirds out and about, an onlooker said: ‘Maya and Ruben couldn’t keep their hands to themselves over some food and ice cream. They flirted for hours.’

Maya and Ruben have tried to keep their blossoming romance out of the spotlight for months, but it’s safe to say they both look very content in one another’s company now—has matchmaker Maya finally found The One?

She’s yet to speak about Ruben to the press, but did tell the Standard in November 2024, the same month she and Ruben crossed paths, that she was looking for her one true love.

‘I am so happy right now, but the next person I meet I want to marry and have kids with, so obviously I’m feeling fussy,’ she said.

‘I’ve created such a nice life for myself alone, and I don’t want anyone who’s not going to add to that.’

She added: ‘I’m in this lovely bubble, and I don’t want you unless you make me happy. If you’re not, I kind of don’t need you.

‘One thing I’ve learned: some people are like, “I’m lonely, I need someone.” But the mission in life is to make yourself happy, then find someone who brings something that matches that to the table.’

Confirmation of her relationship with Ruben follows Maya’s split from rapper Stormzy.

The presenter first met the Vossi Bop hitmaker – real name Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. – in October 2014, and they got together the following January.

Maya and Stormzy, 31, split in 2020, and during an interview with Louis Theroux in 2022, the Big For Your Boots artist described the separation as his ‘biggest mistake.’

Much to the public’s delight, they did get back together in 2023. Alas, it wasn’t meant to last, and they amicably parted ways again last summer.

Maya and Ben Simmons, 28, also famously enjoyed a whirlwind romance, which kicked off in the summer of 2021. It’s believed they got engaged over Christmas a few months later.

While neither party explicitly confirmed they were planning to tie the knot, Maya did not deny being engaged when quizzed by Mo Gilligan at the Brit Awards.

After relocating to the States to be by her man’s side, Maya and NBA player Ben called it quits in August 2022, and she returned to the UK.

An insider claimed she was the one to call off the engagement, leaving both of them ‘heartbroken’.
