Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a> admitted to turning to alcohol following the devastating Los Angeles wildfires<\/a> that took place at the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n

Almost 180,000 people\u00a0have been <\/strong>forced to evacuate<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0their homes as six fires raged throughout the city after the original blaze began in the Pacific Palisades on January 7.<\/p>\n

Ten people are believed to have died<\/a> as a result of the fires and at least 10,000 buildings have been destroyed, including the <\/strong>homes of several Hollywood stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Talented Mr Ripley actress, 52, explained that her menopause<\/a> symptoms worsened due to \u2018drinking every night.\u2019<\/p>\n

‘I’m really in the thick of it right now, so I’m all over the place,\u2019 she said during Tuesday\u2019s episode of her Goop podcast.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u2018But I noticed my symptoms are pretty well under control unless, you know, in January when the fires were happening in LA. I’ve, like, used alcohol for its purpose.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Normally, now at this point, I don’t drink a lot at all. Maybe I’ll have one drink a week,’ Gwyneth – who shares two children with Coldplay<\/a> lead vocalist Chris Martin<\/a> – added, but explained her symptoms ‘were completely out of control. It was the first time I really noticed causation in that way.\u2019<\/p>\n

Although the Glee actress\u2019 home \u2013 which she shared with husband Brad Falchuck<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 remained safe, she took to social media in January to express her condolences to those who lost their homes.<\/p>\n

\u2018Our beloved Los Angeles\u2026 We are in deep grief for so many of our close friends who have lost everything,\u2019 she shared on Instagram at the time.<\/p>\n

\u2018Thank you to those inquiring, we are currently safe.\u2019<\/p>\n
