{"id":5559,"date":"2025-04-22T15:25:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T15:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/?p=5559"},"modified":"2025-04-24T18:20:29","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T18:20:29","slug":"elder-scrolls-4-oblivion-remastered-is-out-now-and-its-a-massive-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/22\/elder-scrolls-4-oblivion-remastered-is-out-now-and-its-a-massive-upgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is out now and it\u2019s a massive upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"410\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22953972 lazyload\" alt=\"The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion key art\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_248434907-faac.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Oblivion awaits (Bethesda)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/bethesda\/\">Bethesda<\/a> has finally revealed The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered and it looks like a major upgrade over the original.<\/p>\n<p>After an <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2023\/09\/19\/doom-3-dishonored-3-and-oblivion-fallout-3-remasters-leaked-by-ftc-19520445\/\">overwhelming amount of leaks<\/a> and rumours, Bethesda has officially revealed The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.<\/p>\n<p>Developed by Virtuos in collaboration with Bethesda, the remastered version looks like a substantial revamp of the original, which was originally released on <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/xbox\/\">Xbox<\/a> 360 and PC in 2006 (and PlayStation 3 in 2007).<\/p>\n<p>Better yet, as was <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/22\/insiders-claim-elder-scrolls-4-oblivion-remaster-release-today-reveal-22949776\/\">previously rumoured<\/a>, the remastered version is officially out today for Xbox Series X\/S, <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/playstation-5\/\">PlayStation 5<\/a>, and PC. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered UK price<\/h2>\n<p>The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered costs \u00a349.99 for the standard edition or \u00a359.99 for the deluxe edition, if you don&#8217;t play it via Game Pass.<\/p>\n<p>Both versions include the original game&#8217;s two expansions, Knights Of The Nine and Shivering Isles, which add a bunch of new storylines and quests.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond expansions, the remastered version also packs in all previous downloadable content, including Fighter&#8217;s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune&#8217;s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard&#8217;s Tower, The Orrery, and Horse Armour Pack.<\/p>\n<p>As for what&#8217;s in the deluxe version, this includes a digital artbook, soundtrack, in-game Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armours, weapons, and horse armour sets.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - Official Reveal\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kk5cymSWmqo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What has changed in The Elder Scrolls 6: Oblivion Remastered?<\/h2>\n<p>Bethesda showcased the reworked open world role-player in a livestream, where it debuted the visual improvements across the province of Cyrodiil, which is now rendered in Unreal Engine 5.<\/p>\n<p>The remaster features various overhauled gameplay systems, including improvements to first person combat through added feedback, and the option to sprint for the first time. The user interface has also been simplified and improved too.<\/p>\n<p>There are also reimagined character models, new lines of dialogue for each race, overhauled lip sync technology, and an altered levelling system partially inspired by Oblivion&#8217;s successor, Skyrim.<\/p>\n<p>All this has meant the file size has ballooned from the 4.6GB original, which was limited by the disc technology of the time.
