after his death.<\/p>\n<p>The French Connection actor, 95, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/02\/27\/gene-hackman-wife-betsy-arakawa-found-dead-home-alongside-pet-dog-22634151\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">was found dead at his Santa Fe property in February<\/a>, with wife Betsy Arakawa\u2019s body discovered in the bathroom beside one of their dogs.<\/p>\n<p>It was <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/15\/gene-hackmans-home-became-breeding-ground-virus-killed-actor-wife-22910430\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alleged that the outbuildings were infested with rodents<\/a>, with the New Mexico Department of Public Health uncovering a breeding ground for hantavirus \u2013 the illness Arakawa, 65, died from \u2013 during a health assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, it has been claimed that their New Mexico estate could be sold for millions of dollars amid confusion <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/14\/gene-hackmans-80-000-000-fortune-sparks-mystery-children-left-will-22730412\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">over the Oscar-winner\u2019s $80,000,000 fortune<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-14619193\/Gene-Hackman-sprawling-Santa-Fe-mansion-sell-5M.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a>, property records allege that the sprawling four-bed ranch is worth between $3.8m and $4m, but could get as much as $5million if it goes on the market.<\/p>\n<p>‘The home is big, stylish and has great bones so there will be interest,’ a Coldwell Banker agent told the publication, sharing that the Hollywood link could drive the price href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/14\/gene-hackmans-80-000-000-fortune-sparks-mystery-children-left-will-22730412\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">obtained a copy of Hackman\u2019s will<\/a>, which appeared to show that he left his entire fortune to his partner, and made her the sole beneficiary in 1995.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet reports that his three children, Christopher, Leslie and Elizabeth \u2013 who he welcomed with ex-wife Faye Maltese \u2013 were not named in the documents, with everything going to the classical pianist.<\/p>\n<p>Arakawa\u2019s will allegedly left most of her assets to her husband, but reportedly included a provision which stated that it would be considered a simultaneous death if they died within 90 days of each other, meaning
