<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/06\/unexpected-connection-keanu-reeves-weezers-band-name-22304407\/\">Weezer <\/a>bassist Scott Shriner, was taken to custody after being shot at by police in a bizarre incident in <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/los-angeles\/\">Los Angeles<\/a> on Tuesday April 8.<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jillianlauren.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">true crime expert Lauren<\/a>, 51, pointed her gun at officers who were trying to catch a hit-and-run suspect, and refused to lower it when asked. <\/p>\n<p>Police said Shriner was shot and fled to her residence. (Photo by Ron Adar\/FilmMagic)\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_246959239-b638-e1744295823421.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Lauren is a famous writer, known for her best-selling books (Picture Ron Adar\/FilmMagic)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Since 2001, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/07\/30\/legendary-90s-band-cancel-project-second-time-fans-dont-care-enough-21324758\/\">90s rock band Weezer<\/a> has consisted of Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner.<\/p>\n<p>They are due to play at Coachella in a matter of weeks, and are booked for Glastonbury in June, returning to Worthy Farm after a 30-year absence. <\/p>\n<p>Lauren is the former call girl for Jefri Bolkiah, Prince of Brunei, who she wrote a memoir about called Some Girls: My Life in a Harem, which has been translated into 18 languages. <\/p>\n<p>She also wrote the 2015 memoir All You Ever Wanted, and published her first novel Pretty in 2011. <\/p>\n<p>In 2023 Lauren published a best-selling true crime book Behold the Monster: Facing America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer, for which she undertook extensive interviews with Samuel Little, who confessed to committing 93 murders between 1970 and 2005.<\/p>\n<p>It blended narrative in her retelling of the victims’ final hours from their perspective – as described to her by Little – and true crime reporting. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"An adoption story | Jillian Lauren | TEDxChapmanU\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TN_eblCUE30?start=1&feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
