Film fans rejoice as one of the most popular British film franchises in years has now had its most recent movie added to Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After Paddington 2 was famously held in higher regard by its most ardent fans than Citizen Kane<\/a> \u2013 traditionally seen as one of the best pieces of cinema ever produced \u2013 everyone\u2019s favourite marmalade-loving bear returned last year for a third adventure.<\/p>\n

And now Paddington in Peru<\/strong><\/a>, which was released in cinemas in November, is available to stream on Netflix in the UK from today.<\/p>\n

A pleasingly swift addition to streaming libraries for Netflix subscribers, Paddington in Peru sees Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw)<\/a> return to his home country to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy (voiced by Imelda Staunton<\/a>), who now lives at the Home for Retired Bears.<\/p>\n

With the Brown family in tow (led by Hugh Bonneville<\/a> and new Mrs Brown actress, Emily Mortimer<\/a>), the clan is then sent on an unexpected, white-knuckle adventure through the rainforest via river after the Reverend Mother at the home (Olivia Colman<\/a>) informs them Aunt Lucy is missing.<\/p>\n

Antonio Banderas<\/a> also stars as swashbuckling riverboat captain Hunter Cabot, helping the Browns on their quest, with the cast featuring Carla Tous, Madeline Harris and Samuel Joslin as well as Dame Julie Walters<\/a>, Jim Broadbent<\/a> and Hayley Atwell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/11\/04\/truly-tickled-paddington-perus-joyful-fun-21921347\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">including four stars from Metro<\/a> \u2013 adding up to an impressive critics\u2019 score of 93% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.<\/p>\n<p>It also garnered the highest audience rating of all three films, with 91% compared to Now<\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>In 2021, Paddington 2 famously seized the throne from Citizen Kane on Rotten Tomatoes when one 80-year-old negative review of Citizen Kane from the Chicago Tribune was unearthed and added, meaning the 1941 classic from filmmaker Orson Welles slipped from a perfect 100% to 99%.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div at 100% as per critics\u2019 reviews added to the Tomatometer, alongside the likes of other films such as Terminator, Singin\u2019 in the Rain and Toy Story 2 \u2013 but it had more reviews than other titles agreeing to the 100% consensus.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/paddington-2-director-paul-king-on-toppling-citizen-kane-i-wont-build-my-xanadu-4174927\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> at the time, Paul King \u2013 who wrote and directed the first two Paddington films \u2013 called it \u2018extremely lovely to be on any list which includes Citizen Kane\u2019 but said he\u2019d try not to \u2018take it too seriously\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I won\u2019t let it go too much to my head and immediately build my Xanadu. He had [to] muster his meagre talent into merely knocking out Citizen Kane,\u2019 he quipped.<\/p>\n<p>Inevitably since then, two less positive critic reactions to Paddington 2 have been added to Rotten Tomatoes, meaning <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2021\/05\/29\/paddington-2-dethroned-from-perfect-rotten-tomatoes-score-by-one-negative-review-14673701\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the film has also slipped to 99%<\/a> \u2013 although one of the reviewer\u2019s did confess: \u2018As a man who is dead inside, I couldn’t fully buy in to the world of Paddington but I watched with my son and he did enjoy it, which is something.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Fans were thrilled when Paddington in Peru\u2019s acquisition by Netflix in the UK was announced on social media last week, with @amyhardy134 replying: \u2018Can\u2019t wait to see it on Netflix. Brilliant film.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Maxine added her name to the list of fans outside the UK as she asked: \u2018What about internationally \ud83d\ude2d\u2019<\/p>\n<div
