Pictures via AP)\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/PRI_205492680-0df7-e1743500916297.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Jason Momoa confirmed a major bombshell about Dune: Messiah (Picture: Warner Bros)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jason Momoa may have just found himself in hot water after dropping a major bombshell about an upcoming film.<\/p>\n<p>The 45-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/01\/19\/jason-momoa-reckons-hasnt-done-a-really-good-movie-yet-20141430\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has commanded huge roles in a string of franchises<\/a>, including <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/aquaman\/\">Aquaman<\/a>, Fast and Furious and Dune \u2013 he played Duncan Idaho in the latter, alongside <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/zendaya\/\">Zendaya<\/a>, <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/timothee-chalamet\/\">Timothee Chalamet<\/a>, Oscar Isaac and Rebecca Ferguson.<\/p>\n<p>Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2022\/03\/16\/dune-part-2-script-is-almost-complete-says-denis-villenueve-16287646\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dying at the end of the first instalment<\/a>, in 2021, he has now confirmed that his character will actually stage a surprise return in Dune 3, aka Dune: Messiah.<\/p>\n<p>During an appearance on the Today show this morning, to promote his <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/minecraft\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Minecraft<\/a> flick, talk turned to Denis Villeneuve\u2019s sci-fi series.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Your character died in the first Dune movie\u2026 But in the books, he comes back as a clone,\u2019 presenter Craig Melvin probed. \u2018Dune: Messiah is set to start production later this year. If you didn\u2019t read the books, it\u2019s not my fault, right?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Yeah, I\u2019m going to be coming back.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Duncan Idaho is making a comeback?,\u2019 Craig clarified, to which he added: \u2018I&#8217;m making a comeback. If I do a third one, which is in the writing process, it&#8217;s not like a trilogy. They become more and more esoteric. It&#8217;s a bit more tricky to adapt, but I&#8217;m not closing the door.
