Action thriller Mercy has soared to the top of the Netflix film charts – but it’s got a shocking Rotten Tomatoes score of 0%.

Behind The Super Mario Bros movie, Minions, and Despicable Me 3 in Netflix’s most watched films in the UK today comes Mercy – the film that was savaged by critics on its release in 2023.

Starring Jessica Jones’ Leah Gibson, Vikings’ Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Voight, the action thriller follows a doctor and former military officer (Leah) who fights for her life when the Irish mafia overrule the hospital she works at and take her son.

However, the film didn’t exactly land as hoped, as it was branded with a rare and very harsh 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with IMDb giving it a slightly more generous 4.5/10. Ouch.

‘There are some terrible movies around, including Mercy on Netflix, from the far fetched plot to the dodgy Irish accents. My toes are curling,’ said X user @Tranquil_Maria as Netflix released the film on its platform again.
