Sam Thompson<\/a> is \u2018hurting\u2019 after seeing photos of his ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott<\/a> on a romantic date<\/a> with former One Direction<\/a> star Louis Tomlinson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Former Love Island<\/a> star Zara, 28, was seen with Louis, 33, on a romantic getaway in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, just three months after her split from boyfriend of five years Sam, 32.<\/a><\/p>\n

In the pictures, obtained by The Sun,<\/a> Zara and Louis appeared smitten as they held hands and laughed amid reports of a blossoming romance.<\/p>\n

A source has revealed that, while former Made in Chelsea<\/a> star Sam is focusing on his career, seeing the photos hasn\u2019t been easy.<\/p>\n

They told us: \u2018Sam is hurting after seeing the photos of Zara and Louis on a date.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s been dealing with the heartbreak of his split from Zara \u2013 it\u2019s only been a few months and they were together for five years as well as living together.<\/p>\n

\u2018Seeing her move on so quickly isn\u2019t easy, but he\u2019s focusing on himself and has a lot going on in his career going forward.\u2019<\/p>\n

According to The Sun, Zara and Louis have been casually going on a series of dates and are seeing where things go.<\/p>\n

A source told the publication: \u2018Louis whisked Zara away for a break in Suffolk and he absolutely charmed her, it\u2019s clear he thinks she\u2019s drop-dead gorgeous too.<\/p>\n

\u2018Louis is a proper gentleman so this trip was something he planned and put on for Zara. He was really thoughtful and wanted to make it special.\u2019<\/p>\n

Sam recently spoke out on his breakup, admitting that he has no plans to start dating again despite Zara moving on.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Celebs Go Dating star Paul C Brunson on his podcast Staying Relevant, <\/a>Sam opened up on moving forward after the split after friends claimed they could \u2018see sadness in his eyes\u2019.<\/p>\n

Paul asked Sam: \u2018What are you doing Sam, to self-love?’<\/p>\n

Getting candid, he replied: ‘Not much to be honest with you. <\/p>\n

‘I suppose a lot of people look for validation in other people right? And they look for the next person instantly because it’s like “I need to find someone else to fill that hole and I need to find that excitement.\u201d<\/p>\n

‘You know when you get that excited feeling when you are talking to someone new and fresh. I can’t do that.’<\/p>\n

After five years together, Zara and Sam reportedly called it quits in December<\/a>, which is said to have come as the result of a difficult year as they both focus on individual projects.<\/p>\n

While Zara has been busy working on documentaries, Sam had spent a significant amount of time in Australia for I\u2019m A Celebrity\u2026 Get Me Out of Here\u2019s<\/a> spin-off show, Unpacked, last year.<\/p>\n

Louis\u2019 most public previous relationship was with Eleanor Calder, who he dated on and off from 2011 to 2022.<\/p>\n

During a split from Eleanor in 2015, Louis briefly dated Briana Jungwirth, who gave birth to the couple\u2019s child, Freddie, on January 21, 2016.<\/p>\n
