American band Gel revealed they have cancelled the rest of their UK tour dates and confirmed they are ‘no longer a band’.<\/p>\n

The musical group from New Jersey<\/a> have made the shock decision to splitafter accusing one of their band members of ‘heinous acts.’<\/p>\n

The hardcore punk band made serious allegations against former guitarist Anthony Webster – who is yet to comment on the claims.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday (March 19), the group posted a statement announcing their break up on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

‘Gel is no longer a band, and therefore will not be playing any of our currently scheduled upcoming shows,’ the statement read.<\/p>\n

‘The reason is pretty simple at its core; the former guitar player, Anthony Webster, has committed such heinous acts in trying to forward himself in his musical career that he\u2019s done irreparable damage to the band in the process, and it\u2019s affected us as human beings more than we can even attempt to explain, to the point of being completely unable to do the band anymore.’<\/p>\n

As the Instagram post slides progressed, more allegations of inappropriate behaviour came to light. <\/p>\n

On why it took them time to speak out, the band concluded the post: ‘If you\u2019ve ever been in [an] abusive relationship, emotionally and\/or physically, you\u2019ll probably understand this better.<\/p>\n

‘It\u2019s like that, but with your life\u2019s work and passion at the forefront as well. It\u2019s not so easy to just give something up that you care so much about\u2026 we wish that this could have all been easier, and we wish that it didn\u2019t have to end this way\u2026’<\/p>\n

It is currently unknown whether the band will be taking legal action against him.<\/p>\n

The band will also now no longer be fulfilling their UK tour, as well as cancelling their scheduled performance at Coachella next month.<\/p>\n
