{"id":1323,"date":"2025-03-13T16:15:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T17:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/?p=1323"},"modified":"2025-03-13T18:22:05","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T18:22:05","slug":"nintendo-switch-2-is-reportedly-getting-a-sequel-to-a-2022-indie-hit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/13\/nintendo-switch-2-is-reportedly-getting-a-sequel-to-a-2022-indie-hit\/","title":{"rendered":"Nintendo Switch 2 is reportedly getting a sequel to a 2022 indie hit"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"363\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22723407 lazyload\" alt=\"PowerWash Simulator 2 still, showing two players spraying a teapot-shaped building covered in dirt.\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.isshicare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEI_243723767-514c.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Developer FuturLab is self publishing this one (FuturLab)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A newly announced indie sequel is only officially slated for PC, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/playstation-5\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">PlayStation 5<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/xbox\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Xbox<\/a>, but it\u2019s claimed there are plans for a <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/nintendo-switch-2\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Switch 2<\/a> version as well.<\/p>\n<p>While the Nintendo Switch 2 is no longer a closely guarded secret, Nintendo and other studios are still keeping mum about which of their games will release for the platform, with <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/16\/new-mario-kart-9-nintendo-switch-2-22376371\/\">a new Mario Kart<\/a> being the only one explicitly confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/10\/nintendo-switch-2-third-party-launch-games-revealed-retail-listings-22335480\/\">rumours and theories of what could be planned for Switch 2<\/a>, including ports of Red Dead Redemption 2 and <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/01\/10\/halo-final-fantasy-7-rebirth-coming-switch-2-claims-insider-22339216\/\">Microsoft\u2019s Halo collection<\/a> as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/06\/18\/metroid-prime-4-trailer-looks-great-really-a-switch-2-game-21059533\/\">Metroid Prime 4: Beyond<\/a> (which is so far only slated for the original Switch).<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/02\/05\/switch-2-nintendo-direct-time-announced-console-exclusives-teased-22502960\/\">big April showcase<\/a>, which will likely unveil some Switch 2 games, one new title is apparently scheduled to release on Nintendo\u2019s upcoming console and it\u2019s a sequel to indie hit PowerWash Simulator.<\/p>\n<p>Simply titled PowerWash Simulator 2 and set to release in late 2025, the announcement trailer from UK developer FuturLab only lists the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X\/S, and PC.<\/p>\n<p>Although there\u2019s no mention of the game coming to Switch 2, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/powerwash-simulator-2-announced-and-its-coming-to-nintendo-switch-2\">Eurogamer<\/a> asserts that this will be the case and that further details will be shared at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement provided to <strong>Metro<\/strong>, FuturLab has downplayed the existence of a Switch 2 version, saying, \u2018Whilst we would like to release on Switch 2, there are no current firm plans. We have no timeframe or news there.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"PowerWash Simulator 2 | Announce Trailer\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cFwqxoF7MwM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Even if a Switch 2 version isn\u2019t currently in the works, it\u2019s not unreasonable to assume it could happen eventually. After all, the original PowerWash Simulator launched for Xbox consoles and PC in 2022, but was later ported to the first Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, followed by a VR version for Meta Quest headsets.<\/p>\n<p>As for what FuturLab could confirm, PowerWash Simulator 2 very much looks to be more of the same, though it will feature a new campaign and, for the first time, split-screen co-op so friends can play through the game locally and not just online.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018PowerWash Simulator 2 feels like a natural evolution from its predecessor,\u2019 says design director Dan Chequer. \u2018The original game\u2019s design was all about eliminating anything that detracted from the pure satisfaction of taking something dirty and making it clean.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018PowerWash Simulator 2 is all about adding in even more avenues for players to achieve that same sense of satisfaction, with new tools, features and quality of life improvements.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Chequer adds that it\u2019s thanks to the first game\u2019s success, with 17 million players worldwide, that FuturLab can self-publish the sequel.
